The milling machine is a 3-axis CNC that is equipped with a 20 x 30 cm vacuum table. The machine uses stepper engines which currently are set at a smallest step size of 4 um on all axes. It is also equipped with air cooling for plastic milling and ethanol vapor cooling for aluminum milling. There is a tool height sensor that can be used to calibrate the top surface of the substrate to the tool. 

We currently have PMMA, POM, PC and Aluminum 6082 in a range of thicknesses as material for milling and tools from 100 um up to 12 mm. Tools that are used for alumium should not be used for plastics as the metal dulls the edge slightly which makes it harder to get nice surfaces on the plastics.
